TEMPIO VOLTIANO

The Tempio Voltiano is a museum dedicated to Alessandro Volta. The neoclassical building was designed by Federico Frigerio and houses a collection of scientific instruments used by the physicist, including the first voltaic cells (batteries).

On the second floor, his personal effects and awards are displayed.

PORTA TORRE

Porta Torre (also known as Torre di Porta Vittoria) is a fortified tower.

At 40 metres high, it was built in 1192 to defend the main entrance to the city.

CASA DEL FASCIO

The Casa del Fascio in Como, also known as Palazzo Terragni, is a building located in Piazza del Popolo and is one of the masterpieces of modern Italian architecture.

Due to its high historical and artistic value, the Casa del Fascio was listed by the Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio in 1986.

VILLA OLMO

Villa Olmo is a neoclassical villa.

It was commissioned by Marquis Innocenzo Odescalchi to the Swiss architect Simone Cantoni in 1797. Purchased in 1924 by the Municipality of Como, today it is only open to the public for exhibitions, while the lakeside gardens are freely accessible during the day.

DUOMO DI COMO

The Cathedral of Como is the city's Roman Catholic cathedral and the seat of the Bishop of Como.

It is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

LIFE ELECTRIC

Life Electric is a contemporary sculpture dedicated to the physicist Alessandro Volta.

Designed by Daniel Libeskind, it was a gift to the city of Como.

Libeskind's creation has continued the tradition of contemporary art in Como, helping to raise its profile.

MONUMENTO AI CADUTI

The Monumento ai Caduti di Como is an imposing tower, 30 metres high, opened by large windows and completely clad in Aurisina and Reppen stone.

Inside, above the plinth, there is a 40-ton monolith of granite from Alzo, covered with diorite from Anzola, engraved with the names of the 650 fallen soldiers from Como in the First World War.

TEATRO SOCIALE

Il Teatro Sociale di Como è uno storico edificio neoclassico inaugurato nel 1813, situato nel centro della città.
